Directions

By train: From the train station in Passau you then have to take the bus to “Lindau, Passau” (the boat’s dock is a little outside).

By car: Passau Lindau is situated on the north side of the Danube, east of Passau. The docking location is directly adjacent to Bundesstraße 388. Exact coordinates will be provided.

From the airport: The best option is to fly to Munich and take the train from there. The regional train “RE 3” leaves every hour (14:24, 15:24, etc.), takes 2h 15min and costs 26€ (the regional trains have fixed prices, so you can buy them shortly before). From the train station in Passau you then have to take the bus to “Lindau, Passau” (the boat’s dock is a little outside). You can buy the train and bus ticket via the Deutsche Bahn website (https://www.bahn.de/).
As sad as it is, you shouldn’t underestimate the unreliability of trains in Germany. However, the regional trains are relatively reliable – but you shouldn’t take the last possible train!

Docking locations and shore excursions:

For better planning, you will find the exact coordinates of the docking points below.

The cruise starts and ends in Passau Lindau.

We stop in Spitz on Monday afternoon and plan a walk through the vineyards (Google Maps, Komoot) if the weather is fine.

We spend the Tuesday afternoon in Vienna and as well as taking a city tour on the historic streetcar, we can also explore the city on foot or enjoy a piece of Sachertorte in a café.

Even if we are only in Dürnstein overnight, the old walls of the illuminated abbey are certainly worth a look – and who knows, maybe even a little night hike.

We will spend the last evening in Linz. The Linzer Heuriger invites you to a cozy get-together with typical local spirits and small delicacies.
